Special guests at Impact this week.

posted by admin

Join CrossSeekers Campus Ministry this Wednesday night at 7:30 in GOSHEN 108A for a presentation from The Traveling Team, a special group of guests whose heart yearns to mobilize college students to understand God’s heart for the nations. Come on out, bring some friends and enjoy an awesome presentation what will challenge you and encourage you to live differently on campus and out in the rest of the world.

We’ll have plenty of free grub and some drinks to wash it down with as well as tons of free resources that will help you grow in your faith while at WCU this semester and beyond.

We look forward to seeing you out this Wednesday night at Impact!

T-shirts galor

posted by admin

Okay, so we’re planning on getting the first t-shirt of the Smith-era designed and ready to wear by all members of CrossSeekers!

If you have a design that incorporates the logo or the tag line for this year (”because Jesus is a pretty big deal”), draw it on a slip of paper or create something in Photoshop and send it in (e-mail will work). Just be sure to have it in by Tuesday night at midnight so that the group can vote for its favorite design.

Can’t wait to see all the last-minute creativity!

Hey everyone! It’s been good to see so many of you involved with what’s going on in CrossSeekers this semester. We wanted to let you know that we’re going to be back in GOSHEN 108A this Wednesday and for the rest of the semester, so that should take care of any questions of where we’ll be meeting.

But, just for a recap, our weekly Impact Gatherings will be taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in GOSHEN 108A for the rest of the semester!

We look forward to seeing you tonight and every Wednesday!

This week with CrossSeekers!

posted by admin

Hey everyone! It’s been great connecting with you and all the other students at West Chester University over the first two weeks of classes! Hope you all made it through Tropical Storm Hanna in one piece. I know those who made it to the football stadium for Saturday’s game were drenched by the halftime. But, it was a solid win for the Golden Rams. Next up: the University of Delaware (boo!).

This week, we’ll continue to dig in and reach out to the community at WCU. I’ll be in Sykes for lunch on Monday to hang out and meet new students. You can stop in and say hello if you want.

On Tuesday, you’ll want to get up early to get a free breakfast bar (or maybe even PopTarts) as our Breakfast Crew dishes out the freebies outside Main Hall beginning at 7:30 a.m. Yes, it’s early, but come on out and serve your fellow students and faculty.

Wednesday night, we’ll get together for the third installment of our weekly Impact Gatherings. We’ll press into who this Jesus guy thought/thinks He is and what that means for us. So come ready to dig in.

Next week: We’ll be kicking off our small group studies, so you’ll want to be there for the dates, times and locations of each of our studies. Whether it’s Song of Solomon, The Journey Group or any of the other studies we’ll be offering, you’ll want to get plugged in and grow with some of your fellow students this Fall.

If you’d like to meet up, hit me with an e-mail at brodie@crossseekerswcu.com and we can work out a time to get together on campus and talk (HINT: lunch is almost always good)!

Have a great week and we’ll see you soon!

This Weekend

posted by admin

Hey everybody! It’s been good seeing you on campus and at our events over the past couple of weeks.

You should be settling into a rhythm here at WCU as we move deeper into the semester. It’s going to be a fun ride, so keep plugging in and being involved on campus and in CrossSeekers Campus Ministry.

Here’s a look at what’s happening this weekend:

Friday - We don’t have any major plans, but if you want to get together for a movie night or a gamenight, we’re up for that. Just shoot me an e-mail to brodie@crossseekerswcu.com, and we’ll see what we can do.

Saturday - It’s Gameday in West Chester. Our Golden Rams welcome Lock Haven in the first home football game of the season. Even if you’re not a football fan, come on out and have some fun with friends. It’s totally free! And don’t forget to wear your purple and/or gold! We’ll gather together at 12:15 p.m. in lounge with the green couches at the front of Sykes and then make our way down to the stadium for kickoff. See you then!

Sunday - Visit the local church of your choice. There are several options listed here on the Local Churches page of this site, so be sure to start there.

We hope to see you out! Feel free to contact us with questions or concerns.

Wednesday Craziness!

posted by admin

It’s going to be a crazy Wednesday, complete with the Student Involvement Fair and our second Impact Gathering of the semester.

If you’ve got some time tomorrow at about 10:30 a.m., we’d love some helping hands to set up our table for the annual Student Involvement Fair. We’re planning to dish out some Survival Packs full of goodies to help students survive the first couple weeks of the semester. It’s a box loaded with snacks and info they’ll need to keep up with all that’s going on.

The Involvement Fair runs from 11-3, so you can stop by the table and chat it up with students just like you who are looking to plug in with a Christian group or maybe just want to know a little more about what we do and why we do it (”because Jesus is a pretty big deal”). So come on out and have a blast at this semester’s Student Involvement Fair.

Later, we’ll join together in Goshen 108A at 7:30 p.m. for the second installment of our weekly Impact Gathering. We’ll be looking at John 8:48-59 this week, so you might want to read through it in preparation. Bring a friend with you as we’ll have plenty of snacks and drinks for everyone (as well as some other freebies available).

Afterward, we’re thinking at trip to Rita’s Water Ice is in order as Wednesday is $.99 cone day! You can’t beat a deal like that, so let’s load up as quickly as possible after Impact and make our way to Rita’s before it closes! It’ll be a great cold treat on what looks to be a warm summer night.

We look forward to seeing you again soon!
