Because Spring Break isn’t here yet…
It’s the last week before Spring Break (as hard as it is to think about that while we’re still in February), and CrossSeekers is still keeping busy on campus.
So before you head to warmer climates or the company of family, we’ve got several events this week and will head into the break with a New England adventure to serve the friendly Bostonians. If you’d still like to go on the trip, e-mail Brodie.
Prayer Breakfast — Each Tuesday morning starting at 7, we gather together in the Side Cafe in Lawrence for some breakfast, fellowship and prayer. It’s completely informal, so come out, get some food in your stomach and spend some time in prayer with your fellow students. Come and go as you need to.
Discussion Groups — Tuesday afternoon at 4, you can find a group of students discussing some questions and thoughts centering on a specific topic. It’s a time to get real with some simple questions that will help us all get to know each other better. If Tuesdays at 4 doesn’t work for you, another group meets on Fridays at noon. Both groups meet in the lounge area next to the food court in Sykes.
Impact Gathering — Our weekly large gathering of students. We meet Wednesday nights at 7:30 in GOSHEN 108A. This week, we’ll continue looking at the decisions we face in college and how to go about making wise choices rather than just “winging it.” We always have free drinks and snacks for you and other resources that might be useful to you as you navigate through your WCU experiences.
Proverbs Study — For those of you unable to make it out of Swope on Thursdays, CrossSeekers comes to you. Each Thursday at noon, a group of students gather in the main lobby of Swope and then head off for a short study of Proverbs, a wisdom book from the Bible. It’s informal and should still leave you time to grab a meal before rushing off to class or practice.
Boston — We’ll load up on Friday and head off to the Northeast, picking up some friends from Williamsport along the way. Once in Boston, the group will spend time serving at a large food bank, working with churches near Boston and spending time on some of the campuses around the city. The team will return on March 4th, so you’ll still have some of your Spring Break to spend with family and friends at home. There’s still time to join the team, but we need to hear back from you ASAP. Yes, that means now.
We’ll see you around campus!
