Don’t Waste Your Life

posted by admin
Find out how not to waste your life.

Find out how not to waste your life.

This study of John Piper’s book of the same title will challenge you to rethink the way you live your life. No one wants to get to the end of their life, look back over the years they’ve put in on this planet and think they’ve wasted the time they’ve been given. But how do you live in light of that? What does the unwasted life look like?

Join in on this study each Friday morning (from 10:30-Noon). Led by a leader within CrossSeekers, you’ll get the book by John Piper and a study guide to work through as you study together. This study will combine a video followed by discussion based around the ideas promoted in the book.

Don’t waste this collegiate moment! Take the time to find out how not to waste it with your fellow students each Friday morning. Meet the group in Sykes at 10:15 a.m. this Friday and then walk together to Brandywine Hall.

There is no denying the impact that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made and has continued to make on the world, most notably in this country. All of America has benefited from his life and legacy.

While the nation celebrated his life earlier this week, West Chester University is hosting a series of events today to remember this great leader. All throughout the day, we encourage you to participate in the events held on campus, including a performance by the Gospel Choir and especially, a panel discussion tonight in Sykes Ballroom C.

The Gospel Choir will be in the lobby of Sykes during the lunch hours. You won’t be able to miss them if you’re stopping for lunch in Sykes.

Reflecting on A Letter from a Birmingham Jail Then and Now will be the topic for tonight’s panel discussion, which will be moderated by WCU history professor LaTonya Thames-Taylor. Local religious leaders from area churches will give insights on various letters Dr. King wrong from his jail cell in Birmingham, Alabama. The panel discussion will start at 7 p.m.

These are perfect opportunities for you to learn outside of the classroom, and we encourage each of you to take part in these events.

It’s the first day of the Spring semester, and CrossSeekers is glad to see you all back on campus.

We’d also like to invite you out to our first gathering of the semester Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Goshen 108A. It will be a time of recapping the break and introducing what’s in store for us this semester. There will also be corporate prayer and worship. Be sure to read through the entire book of 1 Peter (it’s only a few chapters) in preparation of our gathering.

So we’ll see you for our first Impact Gathering this week!

Happy New Year

We’ve made it to 2010! Isn’t it amazing to think that it’s been 10 years since the craziness of Y2K?! Well, maybe you were a little young to remember all that craziness.

CrossSeekers hopes your 2009 ended well with time spent with family and friends over the Christmas Break, and we look forward to what we will meet in the next year.

May God do great things in you and through you to showcase His glory among those around you each and ever day in 2010! We look forward to seeing you all again soon, once the Spring semester cranks up in a couple of weeks. Come ready for and expectant of what God will do over the next several months!
